Oshkosh Corporation’s Specialty Trucks, Trucks Bodies and Access Equipment Offer Unprecedented Value
Know More About Oshkosh Corporation: Oshkosh Corporation, formerly known as Oshkosh Truck, specializes in the design and manufacturing of specialty trucks, truck bodies, and access equipment. It was founded in 1917 as the Wisconsin Duplex Auto Company, originally created to build heavy-duty trucks. Today, the very first prototype released, “Old Betsy” is still functional and headed at one of their assembly plants.
Currently, the company is headquartered in Wisconsin and currently has 12,300 employees. Each division however is headquartered in a different area. The Access Equipment division is headquartered in Pennsylvania, the Defense Division in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, the Fire & Emergency Division in Appleton, Wisconsin, and the Commercial Division in Dodge Center, Minnesota.
It has manufacturing facilities in 11 countries and service operations in 16 other countries. It also maintains a global service network and distributes products in 130 countries around the world. Its primary business divisions are access equipment, defense, fire and emergency, and commercial.
Oshkosh Corporation has a handful of brand names in which it distributes its products: JLG, Oshkosh, Pierce, McNeilus, Medtec, Jerr-Dan, Oshkosh Specialty Vehicles, Frontline, SMIT, CON-E-CO, London and IMT. Many of these brands were obtained through acquisitions, such as Pierce Manufacturing in 1996, McNeilus Companies I 1998, CON-E-CO in 2005, JLG Industries in 2006, along with many more.
Each division of Oshkosh offers its own broad selection of products. The Access Equipment division offers articulating boom lifts, electric boom lifts, mast-style boom lifts, towable boom lifts, telescopic boom lifts, scissors lifts, vertical personnel lifts, and L trailers. The Defense division offers medium tactical vehicles, global HET, heavy army recovery vehicles (HARV) heavy equipment transporters, homeland security command vehicles all-terrain vehicles, sand cats, and tactical fire fighting trucks.
The Fire and Emergency division offers custom chassis, pumpers, rescues, aerials, tankers, wild land, mobile medical, broadcast, ambulances, wreckers, carriers and side loading vehicle retrievers (SLVR). The Commercial division has front loaders, rear loaders, side loaders, bridge master mixer, mechanic trucks, lube trucks, and portable compactors. This is nowhere near an exhaustive list, and more continue to come out each year.
