AirBorn, Inc. - Connecting Flights

Headquartered in Georgetown, Texas, AirBorn, Inc. is a leading producer of electronic connectors for the military, aerospace, civil aviation, and medical markets. Certified to ISO 9001, AS9100, and ISO 13485 specifications, AirBorn got its start in 1960 by manufacturing interconnect products for important legacy companies like Motorola, Texas Instruments, Lockheed Aircraft, Boeing, and Burroughs.AirBorn’s array of cable and board-mount connectors includes the following series:

  • D-Sub Backshells: Used with D-Subminiature and MIL-DTL-24308 connectors, the D-Sub family of backshells relieve strain and provide entryways for wires at 45 and 90 degree angles.
  • HD4 Series: The HD4 family of high-data connectors are ideal for when female interfacing is needed. Possessing four rows and seven columns, these connectors give room for six 4X interfaces.
  • Micro (M) Series: Manufactured to MIL-83513 standards, the M Series of metal and plastic connectors come in sizes ranging from 9 to 100 contacts---allowing customers to customize their termination methods.
  • microQUAD Series: Engineered to process LVDS (low-voltage differential signaling) bus signals such as Ethernet, IEEE 1394, and serial rapid IO, the microQUAD family of female and male connectors are MIL-83513 certified.
  • microSI Series: Manufactured out of metal, the microSI family of high-data connectors are ideal for when signal integrity is needed.
  • Nano (N) Series: Made to MIL-32139 standards, the N Series of metal and plastic connector are ideal for tight spaces.
  • R Series: Designed to meet MIL-55302 standard, the R Series of plastic connectors come in sizes ranging from 11 to 600 contacts.
  • RC Series: The RC family of connectors are stackable and perform high-density duties.
  • RCII Series: Deriving from the RC family, the RCII Series is also stackable and has an aligned contact field.
  • RZ Series: For applications needing a one-piece contact system, the RZ family of solder-less connectors is ideal.
  • verSISeries: Designed to work in extreme environments, the verSI family of open-pin connectors are ruggedized and come in male and female options.
  • W Series: Manufactured to MIL-55302 standards, the W Series of connectors range from 1 contact 200 contacts models.
