Know More About Ohmite: Ohmite Manufacturing Company was founded in 1925 by David Siegel with the purpose of manufacturing caron and wire wound lug resistors for Chicago’s radio manufacturing industry. As the electronics industry grew, the company adapted and began servicing the changing design requirements. In addition, Victoreen Components merged with Ohmite in 1999. Through these acquisitions, Ohmite added wire wound capabilities and Thick Film technology for high voltage applications. The company was acquired by Heico Companies LLC, a multinational holding company, but retained its name. In 2006, Ohmite enhanced its product line by acquiring Angstrohm Rheostat and Ultronix Precision Resistor divisions from Vishay.

Today, Ohmite offers a large variety of power resistors on a global scale for industrial, medical, military and aerospace applications. It continues to develop the newest technology in high voltage, high current, and high energy circuit designs. Its current product offering includes a large selection of axial lead, composition, current sense, engineering cabinets, heat sinkable, heat sinks, high current/braking, high power, high voltage, lug, power control, shunts, surface mount, surface/high energy, thick film, and wire wound parts. Some of its more popular products are the MCS and FCSL Series of metal element SMD power resistors used for current sense requirements. It also carries the 14AFR series of new high temperature current sense resistors which exceed the industry standard. In addition, Ohmite R2 and M, designed for higher power densities, are also popular.
